Would you block the usage of this resource?
Notice: Names of responders to the poll will be public.

An Extremely large oil discovery is about to be announced, possibly tomorrow.
Some headlines boast an increase of the US reserves by as much as 10 times.
In a discussion with another member, it was brought up that there would likely be political resistance to using this resource.
Here is a Wiki link to the oil formation. It does not contain the details that are supposed to be released tomorrow. But it will give you a general idea of location and size.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bakken_Formation

This find is claimed to be of an unusually large size and is of importance to both the energy needs of the US and has positive political/economic implications as regards to our association with Arab oil producers. Positive for us, not them.

The question.
Does anyone complain or have issue with this source to the point they would argue to block it's usage?
I'll keep it simple....two choices and you can explain your reason if you so choose.

Sure, lets just drill up more and more of the planet. After all, we've cleared 95% of the forest that once covered the US, what is a measely 5% more? Why should we have any benefit to the global culture? We should consume all that we can, planet be damned. I'm not having kids, are you? What do I care?

This was marked as a public poll, but it doesn't show.
I've asked a moderator to correct that if possible.

I did not think we have the resources yet to get to the shale in a viable way and I have known about that area and have posted about it last year.

I would dig for that oil, only if there was a NASA type energy program put into effect and funded immediately for the next ten years.
