This I think we can blame the press for and not the politician. Where are the quote marks showing what was actually said? Was anything said?

The thread title is misleading. Clearly, this is the smartest presidential contender we've had in the past 50 years or so. He's slicker than slick willie. And without looking so ... slimy. Which is part of his genius.

You're running on fumes here, Davey Jones. There's valid criticisms of Obama, but this isn't one of them.

Carter is a SD and may speak at the DEM Convention so we will see how this screws Obama more from getting the Jewish vote.

Obama declines to criticize Carter on Hamas
Democratic presidential hopeful refuses to criticize former US President Carter's plan to set up meeting with Hamas politburo chief Khaled Mashaal. Move said to risk Jewish community's support of his bid

Reuters Published: 04.11.08, 22:53 / Israel News

http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7...530608,00.html

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said on Friday it was not his place to criticize former President Jimmy Carter if he were to meet with Hamas, although Obama said he would not meet with the militant Palestinian group.

Obama then got more critical after he talked with Jewish leaders which by the way will never trust him after Joe Liberman goes to Florida for MAC . Obama says he will talk with Iran ,problem is Israel says Prez of Iran is a terrorist .
I think the OP is just being scarcastic.

I don't think the Jewish vote will move much based on this. Obama's really a master communicator and I don't think something like this would affect his crowd much. This is totally different from that Heinz-Kerry idiot expecting people to think he was "nuanced".

Why didn't anybody tell me this before?!?!? Where was I when this happened?

At this point, I think Obama has this race in the bag. Unless McCain can get enough of the AARP liberals-who-call-themselves-republicans crowd to show up and beat the hell out of some hanging chads. Go grandpa, GO! Don't let that stupid chad kick your arse!

I disagree Carter is bad for Obama with Jews and will be used by the Reps.
Yea but you forget the REv Wright and Obama is still a member of a church that has articles praising Palestines and are anti Jewish on its site.
You do not think Liberman going to Florida will make a differnce with Jewish vote ?
Some say the Jews have been looking for an excuse to vote Rep and Obama may have given them one.

Not much of one. Not enough of one to tilt in favor of Hillary or McCain.

I don't believe "The Jews" are that monolithic. They're just people. People are stubborn. They won't change their opinion of a candidate they currently see as least evil unless the other candidates somehow also change their own lack of appeal. People complained in previous elections of being forced to vote for the candidate that was "the lesser of two evils". That's still the case even there isn't much complaining about it going on.
