Let me be the first in here ...
.... to utterly condemn this moron.

Congressional Candidate Speaks to Nazis

Absolutely disgusting. Who let this Neanderthal into the Republican Party? Worst Campaign Idea Ever?

Quote:
CROWN POINT, Ind. - If fans of Hitler held a party, and a candidate for federal office attended, would anybody notice?

Apparently, yes.

Indiana 2nd Congressional District candidate Tony Zirkle addresses a
gathering of the Nationalist Socialist Workers Party on Sunday in Chicago.
The group was celebrating Adolf Hitler’s birthday while Zirkle spoke of ridding
society of prostitution, pornography and the trafficking of “young, white women.”

U.S. Congressional candidate Tony Zirkle is facing criticism from one of his primary opponents, and a host of people on the Internet, for speaking at an event over the weekend that celebrated Adolf Hitler’s birthday.

Zirkle confirmed to The News-Dispatch on Monday he spoke Sunday in Chicago at a meeting of the Nationalist Socialist Workers Party, whose symbol is a swastika.

When asked if he was a Nazi or sympathized with Nazis or white supremacists, Zirkle replied he didn’t know enough about the group to either favor it or oppose it. “This is just a great opportunity for me to witness,” he said, referring to his message and his Christian belief.
Christian? Balderdash!

Definitely a lousy campaign move. Surely it will cost him the election .... as it should.
His political career over .... and it should be.

I have to agree with LAN here, who on earth thought this was a good campaign opportunity? Someone at GOP/Local Campaign HQ needs to be shot (well at least fired! ) As for his claim he didn't know enough about the "Nationalist Socialist Workers Party" to comment on them.... what? Bullshat, infact so much bullshat he's drowning in it! Does he think the average American is stupid? His claim not to know anything about what they are is an insult to the intelligence of the American voter.

Everyone and I mean EVERYONE knows who the Nationalist Socialist Workers Party are! Ok maybe you could forgive him not knowing that Nationalist Socialist Workers Party translates into NAZI party, but surely the damn swastika should have given the game away?

GOP: Get rid of this joker now!

If he is that ill-informed about basic world history, then he shouldn't hold the office.
If (as I suspect) he knows exactly what he was getting into , and simply got caught, and lied, then he shouldn't hold the office.

Either way this guy is done.

Hey Mike. Isn't Nazis illegal in the States? Aren't other groups like the KKK?

nope. Freedom of speech and all that stuff. They have regular marches in which they have to be protected from the regular populace by the cops; sorta of a screwed up double-entendre in there somewhere, I think.
