I know I didn't. Nevertheless, when you posted # 7 you had bad feelings. I wasn't apologising, just acknowledging how you felt.

I will stay out of all war threads forevermore. They're just too confusing to me. Too depressing, too much stuff comes up for me that I don't want to think about.
BMAN might not like that, as I will not be present to kick around, but hey, that's the way it is.......BYE

Gabriel, war threads are dreadful anyway...You'd think by now that wars would become obsolete, given only so much land and water on the earth..

hehehe
interesting question, bomb

this thread serves a purpose for mulder....whether that's a useful thing in CD is itself open to debate

when al respecta first hijacked poochee's thread (which, in it's way, is no less self serving than this one), there was talk among the mods about whether her thread should be closed, or moved, as mulder, and then poochee, wanted....valid points were made on both sides

i argued for it to stay open in CD, believing that it was a topic that could be debated...and that sarge's thread offered a good counterpoint to it....and that the controversy, rather than being something to be avoided, should be welcomed.

so, no, i don't think that this poll means jack in terms of the future of poochee's thread.....or al respecta

Is that the kind of purpose or intent meant here? To get me pissed off again at the stupidity of war?
When I visited the thread, it made me feel sick. I hated the thought of the tearing open of scabs to get a point across.
Can someone tell me if they are being honored by this thread, or used like cannon fodder to tear at people and piss them off?
If it is about pissing me off, do not use other peoples babies either to do it

A large part of me feels that way.....and that was my initial thought when viewing the thread....I am sorry if my feeling is in error....
and I am stuck in the limbo of not knowing how to vote
this is a great post, exposing the wealth of feelings and thoughts regarding both of the "honor" threads currently running in CD.

in spite of what mulder insists we all must believe to be true, there is no right answer here....it depends on the individual....it's one of the reasons i razz him with al respecta, and have intervened a couple of times in sarge's tread to let it run unfettered.

it ain't pretty and it ain't elegant -and it may not even be true- but there is something about grief in all these war threads, gabriel, imo

I'm pretty sure Mulder would be pleased to see poochee's thread closed.
But I don't see the linkage to thread closing that you infer.
If there are to be any closings based on thread value, 90%+ of the threads would close immediately.
Body counts were a psychological anti war tool of the past and Mulder just posted a questionnaire to see how the forum feels about the constant reference to body counts.

The poll seems straight forward to me and allows for a range of position. What's the matter, Mulder.....I thought you didn't do fair.....losing your edge?

Why would you wonder?
The poll is a fact finding exercise to see what the forum thinks.
Are you inferring Mulder shouldn't poll the forum on questions you disapprove of?

That's why there are wars and that's why there will be more wars.
There is only so much to go round and then someone says......It's mine, I take it because ****** (insert rationale )
