No prob.
My part about "greed" is pointed at the folks whose main goal is to make an industry out of art. Take the "businessman" out of art and it goes a lot better. Take one of the best music shows I have ever seen, about twenty or so folks brought instruments and a love of music and jammed out in a park for about four hours. No money, no promoters, record executives, lawyers or folks selling t-shirts, just music in black and white. Every time that money or the need of someone to have power over someone for money comes into play bam!! No more black and white.
Like I said if Joe writes a book, binds the book, copyrights the book and sells the book then it is pretty straight forward but (and I admit I do not know a lot about the business of books) if Joe writes a book and wants it published you get gray, all of the sudden there are lots of folks looking out for their best interest and the interest of their check book and Joe has to hire someone to look out for his interest. (That is a lot of gray interest)
In relation to the topic of this thread, it seems that no matter what Goog. is doing what they are to make money, not to be an online public library. So, as most folks will, I feel that there is something a little "fishy" going on.
I like free but not at the cost of an artistes livelihood. If they do not have a say then it is wrong
