BAGHDAD — A tough Iraqi general, a former special operations officer with a baritone voice and a barrel chest, melted into smiles when asked about Senator Barack Obama.
“Everyone in Iraq likes him,” said the general, Nassir al-Hiti. “I like him. He’s young. Very active. We would be very happy if he was elected president.”
But mention Mr. Obama’s plan for withdrawing American soldiers, and the general stiffens.

The rest of the article here.

Once again, Obama should probably flip-flop on this one !

Yes, keep making that point.

I just completed travels to the western regions of our country. The economy is booming in South Dakota.

In fact, so much so that they are adding motel rooms, campsites and RV sites so often, there are now a great many vacancies.

It just goes to show you. Under the administration of us conservatives, Americans are getting what we deserve.

A coffer they can't refuse

McCain's switch on offshore drilling brings him big money from Big Oil

While the drumbeat for more domestic drilling is unlikely to get additional oil flowing anytime soon, it has increased the flow of cash to GOP presidential candidate John McCain. McCain changed his position on offshore drilling last month, calling for coastal areas to be opened to exploration, and since then he has been campaigning hard on the issue.

According to The Washington Post, McCain's shift has proven lucrative:

Never thought anyone one or thing could make Bob Dole look like Mr. Personality, but McCain is doing a pretty good job of making it so.

when they are in office most of em are like robots. Bush Sr. and Dole both would have had a better chance at getting elected if they had acted the same while running as when they gave up politics.

and I did say most of them ......... not a blanket statement

Guess you missed this part of the article
“Very difficult,” he said, shaking his head. “Any army would love to work without any help, but let me be honest: for now, we don’t have that ability.”
Thus in a few brisk sentences, the general summed up the conflicting emotions about Mr. Obama in Iraq, the place outside America with perhaps the most riding on its relationship with him.
