The answer is NO.. That formula doesn't work, think about it.
Unfortunately there are many women who will vote for Clinton just because she is a woman. Same as some blacks will vote for Obama just because he is black. It is human nature to vote for somebody you feel something in common with. I would vote on the candidates merits but not all do that. I doubt that is anything do with us here.

Maybe you take voting for granted skates, maybe your comfortable in your chains, I hope your not a microcosm of the Greater American woman because the only thing that gets women elected is women. Men dont vote for women, men dont like taking orders from women and men are generally unhappy about women in higher positions and thats a fact of life that never changes, dont tell me youve never heard of the glass ceiling, maybe you will bump your head on it pretty hard one day and the suffragette in you will wake up.
Women in my age group have experienced this. Some of the younger ones haven't....yet!

In the late 80s I was attending a department meeting with Asst VPs reviewing us on Affirmative Action goals and a dummy stood up and said men should make more money than women because men are the head of the household. Dead silence. BTW, it did not help his career.

I could see that some people might be that shallow?
If your theory is right, some old people would vote for McCain too?
One big problem: Who would a old black women vote for?

Yeah, that kinda thinking doesn't work any more in this day and age. I'll bet he was an old guy who said it.
My boss was listening to a c.d. on the office radio, some old guy giving a speech to a bunch of men at a mens convention about family dynamics. I almost fell out of my chair when he said the husband should control ALL of the finances because he is the head of the household. I laughed outloud and so did he. It sounded like it was right out of the 50's.

Actually...he was in his early 30s! I couldn't believe he was that ignorant! There was discrimination against hiring women in management jobs in that department so his stupidity speeded up the clean-up.

Nope, that was his attitude. He wasn't the only one. His immediate boss was the same. The big guys took care of it though. They started placing qualified women in the department. It was offered to me but it involved a lot of traveling and I had other obligations. It was interesting to observe.

No its no joke, a great many outback Americans will not vote for a black man no matter what pc responses they give to pollsters.

I think if by some outside chance Obama gets to the Presidency it will be to fill the roll of flack magnet.

Sad to say, if he wins, it's a cinch he would be safer in Montreal or London than the USA. I love my country, but we do have an over abundance of radical right wing racist and hate groups.

To say nothing of the left-wing building bombers and anarchists that support terrorist's "rights". And believe in the freedom of speech only if you agree with their point of view!

Timothy McVeigh was one of yours. We old leftist haven't bombed buildings in years. We do however believe in freedom of speech, human rights and the writ to habeas corpus, which we all understand is foreign and to be feared by those on the right that would love to repress self expression, premarital sex, homo's and any other sort of individualism.
