I would say a mini van is a good choice. Leave the seats for family trips take them out/fold them down when moving boxes. Mini vans tend to have better gas mileage and more safety features then SUVs. Not as cool to drive, but very practical.

I would not recommend the Dodge Caravan as they seem to have transmission problems as they age.

Would probably be cheaper to rent a Uhaul (Van, PU Truck, small trailer) when you needed it rather than buy a vehicle. Would be 100% tax deductable, no depreciation to fart with, insurance, maintenance, etc.

The only disavantage is in the case you're trying to get a new 'personal' vehicle that can be 'pawned off' as a business vehicle so the American taxpayer can buy you a new car. I suspect this is closer to the truth...............fits your politics.

I'll add onto Wino's post. If this is a personal AND business vehicle, why not buy a used diesel truck and invest in getting a biodiesel conversion contraption and not buy any diesel whatsoever? You'd save money by spending less than $1 per gallon.

I am not going to buy a trailer and put up with that hassle. This is for work and personal use. And by the way Wino I do pay taxes on personal usage. All done on the legit with a log book and everything so Uncle Sam gets his fair share of it.

Diesel? No way. Not interested.

Using biodiesel there is no outpouring of huge black exhaust plumes and plenty of power. Plus, it is environmentally friendly. So...why don't you want a diesel?

Where can you buy biodiesel, especially for under $1/gallon?

I don't want a truck for one thing. and this is the other reason biodiesel does not interest me.

Biodiesel is available nationwide. It can be purchased directly from biodiesel, producers and marketer , petroleum distributors, or at a handful of public pumps throughout the nation.

You make biodiesel at home Did you not see that part of my above post? And lets say you do make a trip beyond the capacity of your tank. All you have to do is fill up with normal diesel and you'll be back on the road.
