Hi LAN,

Did you read this :
OBAMA OBJECTS
BUT THE EVIDENCE SAYS I'M RIGHT
?
Here's the final paragraphs of the article :
Quote:
...
The real news I see in the Obama statement is that there may be an encouraging evolution in his position on Iraq: The "rebuttal" shows that the senator no longer shares his party leadership's belief that the United States has lost the war in Iraq.

He now talks of "the prospect of lasting success," perhaps hoping that his own administration would inherit the kudos. And he makes no mention of his running mate Joe Biden's pet project for carving Iraq into three separate states. He has even abandoned his earlier claim that toppling Saddam Hussein was "illegal" and admits that the US-led coalition's presence in Iraq has a legal framework in the shape of the UN mandate.

In his statement on my Post article, Obama no longer talks of "withdrawal" but of "redeployment" and "drawdown" - which is exactly what is happening in Iraq now.

While I am encouraged by the senator's evolution, I must also appeal to him to issue a "cease and desist" plea to the battalions of his sympathizers - who have been threatening me with death and worse in the days since my article appeared.

I know this forum says you can't be thin-skinned - however, I find this offensive - it is low racial humor. I realize there are people out there who will not vote for Obama strictly because he is black, but I don't believe this forum is the place to promote that.

As a conservative, I also agree that post is tasteless.

Whatever turns you on - I feel this crap is all racial and will not participate in it. It's the type thing that continues to divide this Country. I don't think it serves the best interest of anyone.

I don't know what Lou Dobbs is - but just because he does this sort of thing doesn't make it right. I'm not the only person who thinks this waaaay too far. You might check this out:

So why does this forum promote it?

The forum doesn't permit it, nor promote it. Littlefield, I seem to remember you being warned about your racist postings. Please go back and remove the offending posts.

I was going to wait for a community moderator to handle this, but, I don't see anyone online right now.

I will also remind you that you had two strikes against you before I made this request. This is strike 3. Consider yourself lucky that I'm in a good mood today, otherwise, your account would now be disabled.

I don't have time to clean up after nonsense. You need to do it yourself. I usually clean more thoroughly, and I'm willing to guess that you know what that is going to mean.

I removed it .Driving Mrs Daisy has been posted before so I guess you meant Cream of Nothing. I did not post Driving Mrs Daisy the first time and it has been posted before with no problem and I did it to make a point .

my money is on this last one.....no so much as racist, as making the entire republican party out as mindless victims of the media (and their own pundits)....it's hard to imagine any well meaning, intelligent conservative thinking this is more than grade school stuff, all done up professionally, to be sure, but stilll little more than union guys working on the fifth floor, luridly suggestive to the cute chick with her skirt blowing in a fine fall breeze, and patherically insulting to the fat chick coming the other way.

it's not just you Littlefield....campaigns in american politics are rapidly becoming nothing more than we the people who are voting for these candidates stooping to the level of our favorite celebrity, who gets paid big bucks to make insults funny, make 'the other side' out to be nitwits, and entertain us with stuff that makes us stop thinking, and start reacting.

we are the johns of politics, and campaigns are all neon signs, boardwalks, and a certain walk

i find it really discouraging.
