The Democrats now have to reconvince not only their own People about the US and Democracy - but everyone elses too! What needs to happen now is a Process of consolidation and the Party Activists job is anything but over! The Media might make much of the Obama Family etc and the transition in Washington but this is only a very small part of the Process. It's crucial that the huge movement for democatic Rehabilitation doesn't lose momentum because if it does the only People who will benefit will be those just voted out!

It's now not so much about who is becoming President - but why!

When those now voted out - and their New Labour Stooges here - found out who wrote an Article that was distributed around the Media a few Years ago I (was forced) to meet every closet Neocon that ever crawled out of the Woodwork. This went on for so long and was so stage managed and omnipresent I began to ask whether we had any Opposition to it at all here. Hence my Metaphors from another Conflict - just because of the complete Dearth of any Evidence of opposition at all. It was like they'd bought an entire Area and it was all being run by a sort of Milo Charecter from the Film "Catch 22" (and if you've ever seen the Film or read the Book you'll see the rather poignant reference). I very occasionally met someone who seemed quite genuine - but they weren't exactly an Omnipresence like the Neocons were.
The Republicans under Jorge Bush certainly did their share of damage to the US, but the policies as expressed by Obama and worse by his past statements as to what he wants to do to the US will damage perhaps beyond repair. He has stated that he see our Constitution as very flawed and that is, to me, un-American and anti-American. The sheeple bought his smooth rhetoric without once asking for a full vetting of this imposter and fraud. The world will weep along once you realize that without the US leading, the rest of the "developed" world will crash right along with us.

This will make for some very interesting Research.................

On the Subject of Glamour Politics though (as the Media seem to have focussed on in all their celebratocratic fervour) can I mention the most unglamourous Politician that ever had a similar Effect as Obamas pro-democracy - Vaclav Havel!

I thought McCain may have pulled off coup ! really did something to aid his campaign , until I listened to her .

Listen to her say what? What did you hear her say? I already posted the stories about the library and other stuff that Linsky provided...it wasnt true, so please give me some real news not slander or hearsay. I also would prefer a democrat to give me this news because I know you will do your best to try and find something. Not just I dont like her voice or her "you betcha" comments or Africa country/continent bs, please Real objectionable news.

If you havnt done so already please read...

You already posted about the stories--lets review them. Caribou Barbie did the following.

Upon becoming Mayor of Wassila, she called the town librarian and asked how she could go about getting books removed out of the library. The librarian, said she wouldn't and shortly thereafter the librarian was asked to resign.

She believes that there should be a place for "debate" of Creationism in the school system.

She is against a rape victim having an abortion.

If you want to know where Caribou Barbie stands on Science, read this frightening piece by Bush supporter, Christopher Hitchens.

Lets not try and switch rolls now here Candy. Are we judging Palin because she says "you betcha"? What I think we are really seeing is a hatred that people, mostly liberals, have for Palin for no apparant reason other than she conducts business different and in my opinion straight-forwardly.

Poochee gives you the ole again and never lists her own reasons for "hating" on this woman, although she is entitled to her opinion.

Linsky talks about a book ban but the question was rhetorical and no book was ever removed or banned. What Linsky doesnt tell you is...
Quote:
She did not demand that books be banned from the Wasilla library. Some of the books on a widely circulated list were not even in print at the time. The librarian has said Palin asked a "What if?" question, but the librarian continued in her job through most of Palin's first term
.

and the creationist debate
Quote:
Palin has not pushed for teaching creationism in Alaska's schools. She has said that students should be allowed to "debate both sides" of the evolution question, but she also said creationism "doesn't have to be part of the curriculum."

and against rape victims having abortions.

Katie Couric interview. Palins words, listen with your ears instead of your hate.
Quote:
Personally, I would counsel that person to choose life despite horrific, horrific circumstances that this person would find themselves in and if youre asking though should anybody end up in jail for having had an abortion, absolutely not, thats nothing that I would ever support.

Linsky..please we went through this two times now.

OK, now that is fine. I can live with that and I support you not supporting her but why all the smears and low blows? Im not saying you are doing it but it is being done all over the media. Why the hatred for her? Im not really asking you Fidel. (I have my own opinions)..its just something I have to ask myself.

Sarge, do me a favor, don't post Youtube Videos that were recorded after the idiot was named as VP candidate. And by the way, what about this little tidbit from the very website you posted:
On Aug. 29, the Boston Globe reported that Palin was open to teaching creationism in public schools. That's true. She supports teaching creationism alongside evolution, though she has not actively pursued such a policy as governor.

What don't you understand about "she was open to teaching creationism in public schools"?????????

I guess because she didn't pursue it as governor means I shouldn't be concerned. The fact remains that she has been governor for a short period of time. We don't know where she is going to go with this nonsense. However, even if she were never to pursue it, the mere concept is frightening, just as her attack on scientists who use fruit flies to do research.

Sarge, hitch your wagon to this backward rube and your party will remain in the darkness for the foreseeable future.

The YouTube video is Palinss own words during the Katie Couric video, what do you want transcripts? Did you even click the link? Why ask for proof if youre not going to look at it?

I don't hate Palin, and I doubt poochee does either. A President of the United States should be able to communicate in a business type fashion. I'm sure we have other world leaders that have to resort to "chit chattin........." right? If you want to be taken seriously, you have to SOUND SERIOUS. Isn't that what we were taught in school? The importance of conveying your thoughts and opinions in an intellegent manner?

You betcha This has absolutely NOTHING to do with hating the woman. She's not presidential material or VP either.

OK..You have a good point. Obama is definetly more articulate than her and her voice is a bit....ummm, different. She can "communicate in a business" manner as you say and leave out the "catch phrases" when she wants to. Ive heard her speak and She is not all the fool many claim. Lets also remember She was running for VP (another good strategy used by dems to pit Palin vs Obama, imo.) Other than that, duly noted.

I repeat, that interview occurred after her nomination where she had to temper her "views"!
