Chambliss will win. No way with the control of the senate on the line the reps will lose that one.
and you forgot the Lieberman factor. they should have not pissed the guy off by kicking him off homeland. the new and improved Democrats that are oh so willing to reach across the aisle could not even reach across their desk.

I wasn't thinking it would happen, I just think it's going to get interesting. I predict the Dems take one out of three here. Lieberman and Reid have NOT come to any conclusion yet, despite Mitch McConnel's invite. I still see all of this as very fliud. Georgia could surprise you.

#51 I saw all I needed today to make an educated opinion about how the economy will go under the Anointed One.
sitting smack behind him as one of his new trusted economic advisers................................................................... .......
Drum rolls please
Jennifer Granholm...... Governor of the United Socialist Republic of Michigan
If she is the cream of the crop out of all the people in the country and he chose her it says volumes. MI is in the middle of a depression. we have passed the recession phase.
This is hysterical. You would not find that even in a best selling Steven King thriller.

Seems to me that placing one who has been where we are actually likely to go makes some sense.

I can not believe you are serious.
This is no different than hiring one of the failed CEO's of the banking debacle to come in and fix things.
I bet you would not say the same if she was a republican coming in under the same circumstances for a McCain presidency had that happened.
We should be demanding the brightest minds out there. She has none of that. and has proven it over her miserably failed tenure as our governor.
Part of me would relish her taking a similar position on the Obama Cabinet but I would not wish that on the country even though it would be a god send for MI

she doesn't seem very well liked, bill
i read an open letter to her posted back in '06....the comments insinuate that she is trying to revive manufacturing in MI, which has suffered a lot recently....and that she has done nothing but "line her pockets"
she's apparently seeking federal mandated budget cuts for your state, as well....what the heck is that all about?
one question....is it fair to lay all this at her feet?

the blame is with the voters. she was voted in a 2nd term. despite clear evidence she was no leader. she has looks and charisma but is as phony as a 3 dollar bill. She has failed policies and led us into a budget crisis and then disappeared and provided no leadership to help the legislature get it resolved and we almost closed down the govt at one point.
the only thing she has done to spur business growth is to give a tax break to movie makers. yeah a democrat giving a tax break to the wealthy. and it brought in a lot of activity.
no she is worthless and the worst possible choice to have as an economic adviser. I am serious when I say this shows poor judgment on Obamas part. He picked her for political reasons only. Probably due to the auto company issues. Another example of his style over substance. IMO

no idea
been lot of rumors around about what will happen to her.
she was a prosecutor in Wayne County which is where Detroit is. She was nurtured by the political machine. The betting line is she would get a plumb job as a judge somewhere. or some position on the Cabinet.

#59 Wacor, I was serious, and ignorant. I just wanted to suggest a reason it might make sense. You know far more than I do about this.

I was not trying to mock you Bruce. Well maybe a little
I respect your views even if I disagree.
I hope you got the gist of my point even if it did have some pointed barbs on it.
Even if she was a genius she is leading a sinking ship. Nobody in their right mind would pick that person to captain another ship just because they handled a sinking one.
It would be one thing if she righted the ship but she has done nothing to garner any respect. Keep in mind MI has been in the tank for 3 years now. all thru her first term and then re elected in 06 so it is not like she has been only just now been thrust into the MI malaise
and for the record she also did serve one term as the AG
