We still don't have a reason for the ban. It could have to do with a bunch of things other then religion--for instance safety issues, insurance, etc. I wish the poster would be more specific.

I would focus on floss for that plaque... then you don't have to avoid it.

Take care, Denny.

I got to play bass guitar for our candle-light service last night.

We did all the traditional carols, and a few more.

My fingers got a workout!

Strangely enough, the only reference for this story I could find when I googled it was right here on this forum. Searching the web sites for the Brisbane Times and the Courier Mail directly also failed to yield any matches.

Here in the US, the Target store stopped having the Red Cross army (the bell ringers) because of the noise, and to some of our members, harrassment.

Snopes on the Salvation Army being banned. Honestly, they got my business based on their stance:

well that's the official reason... though my reasons were also part of it. For example the exception for Salvation Army was allowed providing that they do it outside, though, and even at the store i worked in, they would move their stand inside ringing their bells, which came about the noise complaint. Our store manager was kind enough to give them free hot drinks too when they were outside.

I've never seen the Salvation Army inside here. Some ring their bells, some don't. Doesn't bother me one way or the other. I just drop my donation.
