interesting....in checking out movie times for LAN in Arkansas, I stumbled across this review from Arkansas online

whereas Pigliucci says
Quote:
Capitalism is indeed a love story, because through all the criticism it is obvious that the director aches for a better America, and he does not envision that America as a communist country.
the author from AK begins his review this way
Quote:
Michael Moore's Capitalism: A Love Story is anything but - he might have had a crush on capitalism early on, yet anyone who thinks that the two have been on friendly terms for a while hasn't been paying attention.
what's interesting, tho, is -other than the difference between these two perspectives on Moore, both reviewers see the movie through much the same lens.

i haven't seen it....probably won't....but i was glad to see that two people, at least, who did see it where able to acknowledge that it wasn't just some liberal "manifesto" against capitalism.

Personally, I've mostly though of Moore as a Leftist opportunist/scumbag.
Or ......Leftist scumbag opportunist
or........scumbag Leftist opportunist
Well....you get the idea

But what makes a blogger/geneticist an authoritative source on something Moore produced?
Why should any one care what Massimo Pigliucci thinks about when the topic isn't about his profession?

I agree with Jack. Moore is a polarizing figure, and his pro-communist, anti-American movie is an ideal subject for CD.

Thread-driver ..... MOVE ... THAT ... THREAD!!!

Moving this thread to CD
