I'll put Jonah up their with Hercules and Samson under the category of legend.

DNA is revolutionizing the field of man's origin. We can know how societies are related. They are less diverse than natural selection would suggest which implies mass extinctions or the so called "bottle necks" where only a small sampling made the trip.

Many societies without Christianity also have the story of the flood. Sumerian tablets interpreted in the seventeenth (or eighteenth?) century speak of such things and they predate biblical scrolls. The three rivers likely converged somewhere under the surface of the Persian gulf - a region that was flooded by some world catastrophe or warming period.

Yet, the bible cannot account for the fossils and evidence we continue to find except perhaps with LAN's assertion that God created a mature world.

This should be in a different thread. I say we get back to bashing nation states.

We lived beyond coverage of cable until I was in high school. So we got our entertainment wherever we could find it. But, I still watch jeopardy on occasion.

yup, if jeopardy is on, I'll watch it.......usually just discovery science or whatnot. My wife keeps bugging me to go on there, but I know that if I do, the categories would be something like 'good 90's music', 'hip hop bands that influenced the world', 'my name is britany', 'paris does what?', and 'what team did Terrel Owens ruin most recently'?

me and some buddies comprised a best Jeopardy show categories. Have to see if I can dig it up.

Hell, maybe I'll make a thread on it.

That's a great idea Valis.

But a ground rule would have to be "no google".

I've only started two threads here and got hammered on one of them.

But, if you are talking about tracking the participants Google use, I'm all in.

Valis can easily rule out any Google cheaters.

As a Mod he can run diagnotic tests on findings from the tracking cookies we accept when we log in.

You can expect him to now post denying this 'scurrilous' allegation.

I'm not fooled.

Just glad I have my natural genius to fall back on.
