"I woke up this morning feeling like Michelle Obama......
For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my state, New Jersey, because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback

Congratulations to Chris Christie I pray he governs as someone who loves New Jersey and not like a politician.

and he didn't even need Obama's robo calls

“Hi this is President Obama, I want to apologize for disturbing you, but there’s an important election in New Jersey this coming Tuesday. Last year we started the movement for change. Now we need to keep it going. That's why I'm asking you to get behind Governor Jon Corzine. (isn't he the incumbent where's the change in that )Together we can fix our schools, improve health care, turn around the economy so it works for all Americans. So please get out to vote on Tuesday. And vote for my friend and your governor Jon Corzine. Thanks for listening."

guess being B.O.'s friend isn't all that after all

Hi Hanna

Those in Virginia are feeling the same way I guess. We endorsed gambling here All the ads on TV said it would bring 34,000 jobs to our State, secure money for all of our counties, and bring tons (tons) of money to our State. But the ads never said it was for casinos. That's a shame.

How about Maine?

Well as a Virginian, it is not the first time I am proud of my State. It has been awhile though. The best part was to look at the map of counties and how they voted (except, I wish that they would go back to the original colors as Red is for the commie Dems). Just glad to not live in Arlington or Alexandria city where they are on the "progressive" train to hell.

Laugh of the week .......

Nancy Pelousy: “We Won Last Night” LMAO!!!

…Lies Twice About NY-23 Race

facts don’t matter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi

Quote:
“From our perspective, we won last night,” the California Democrat told reporters during a Wednesday photo op. “We had one race that we were engaged in, it was in northern New York, it was a race where a Republican has held the seat since the Civil War. And we won that seat. So, from our standpoint, no, a candidate was victorious who supports health care reform, and his remarks last night said this was a victory for health care reform and other initiatives for the American people.”
I count 3 lies in the above spew.

Democrat Bill Owens campaigned against the public option.
Pelosi was lying.

And, Democrat Michael R. McNulty represented NY-23 from 1989-1993.
But, it sounds better when you say “the first time since the Civil War.”

The 3rd lie is the one where she claims, "We Won Last Night".

However, I wish for her .... many, MANY MORE similar victories.

What an IDIOT!

Has legalizing gambling ever brought all that's promised? I'm sorta anti gambling - would rather spend my money on a nice meal though I will by a lotto ticket once in awhile

and Yay to the Mainer's they don't like being told what's "good" for them - can't we just let this drop? don't they see that every time it's brought to a vote -the people vote it down? keep the Civil Unions - let them have their rights - but don't change the definition of marriage

Well, the Congresscritter (Moran) from Alex. has been proven to be a crook and they keep re-electing him anyway. It is the proximity to DC in Alex and Arlington where most of the young people moving to the DC area live. So you have all the recently brainwashed college grads with their idealism moving in and being hired by the government and voila, Dem voters! More government means more of their friends can come and get jobs too!

Fairfax county is bipolar in that there are many like in Alex and Arlington, while a core of older residents are still conservative. The results of the state elections look like enough have seen what Dem rule is going to do and have rejected it!! Yea!

Until this past Tuesday, I would say that you're describing NJ

and New York, and CT and MA.....etc....etc

my niece doesn't have a government job, so she's a little more realistic

I remember sometime ago Candy and wacor (I think) were commenting on how casinos can create dead zones surrounding their areas. I was confused at what that meant cause I've never been to one. Come to find out that residential and business don't fair well in those areas. So from that aspect casinos don't have a positive impact.

My folks take a bus and will go to casinos out of state. So when this issue came up (for the 5th time in 19 years I think) they were all for it. They said they wouldn't go to in state casinos anymore than the out of state ones. That's all so fine and dandy for the folks that don't have a gambling prob or allow it to become one but for those who see it as a way out of financial straits, they're going to have problems. The poor man's tax I guess.

Cleveland, Toledo, Cincinnati, and Columbus will have casinos. I don't know about Columbus but the other cities are pretty blighted and low income areas. I don't see anything positive coming out of this. Detroit had one of their casinos file for bankruptcy.

I always liked a sure bet myself (like a fine meal ), gambling wasn't one of them.

I find it hypocritical for states that have lotteries to not allow casinos. Lotteries are taxes on people that can't do math.

I agree. We have had "games of chance" machines in bars for years. Not just the ticket machines usually found in clubs but machines similar to the slots idea. Never understood how they got away with it. I use to play the lottery for a bit but that was years ago when it was first started here.

Give them time. They start with lotteries, then move up from there.
