Red face Windows Movie Maker verses Windows Live Movie Maker
Windows 7 does not recognize films from my new Olympus 820-ihs-digital-camera on Windows 7. In properties they show up as “Windows Live Movie Maker” format . I have no problems with my other two slightly older Olympus cameras these films are “Windows Media player” format. Windows Movie Maker can't read the films from the 820. Any suggestion?

Have you updated your Windows, including Media Player and Move Maker.
I think the latest Movie Maker is build 15.4.3555.0308.
Anybody got a new version ???

???? You said ... "Window Live MM" ????
I don't think WMM 2.6 is the latest Windows Live Movie Maker that I'm using in W7.

Older versions of WMM will not read my new Sony either

Hummmmm .. It looks like there's a new version .. WLMM 2012 released in Aug 2012 ???
It would be nice if windows updates would tell me this.

Quote:
The 2012 version was released on August 7, 2012 for Windows 7 and Windows 8 users, and dropped the Live part of the title to be known officially as Windows Movie Maker 2012. Windows Movie Maker 2012 included new features including audio narration, audio waveforms, audio ducking and emphasis, Vimeo music store integation, support for MPEG-4/H.264 encoding, customizable outlined text, and auto-save features, as well as video stabilization and rolling shutter correction for Windows 8 users.[5]
Does your WMM look like this ????

Windows Movie Maker verses Windows Live Movie Maker
I just realize that the movies are MOV and AVI files, Movie Maker plays AVI but not MOV, I just downloaded the newest version and yes it looks like the one below. I read on Internet that because their are numerous more MAC users, the new cameras use now MOV so it can be used on MAC and Windows. I can play the movies with Quick Time but not Media Player or Movie Maker. Guess I have to figure out how to convert from MOV to AVI. Any suggestions?
