No preview available...why?
I am having trouble with saving JPEG images (from the Internet) to My Pictures. I right-click on the image, the menu pops up and I select "Save...", and all seems well, but when I go to My Pictures and try to view the image, all I get is the message "No Preview Available"! There's an icon there with the title and a graphic (not the image, though), but that's all. I even tried saving to "My Documents", but the same thing happens. I did manage to successfully save a few images using this method, but the last several I've tried just give me that "No Preview Available" message when I attempt to view them. Any ideas as to what's going on and how to fix it? This is an almost new computer system. Thanks!

There are several causes apparently, but take the easy options first.

Clean out your temporary internet files. That can often fix the problem.

Clean out my temporary internet files? How would I go about doing that? And please keep your answer as low-tech as you can... I'm not into much computer jargon. Thanks! Also, is this a recurring problem I should expect, and why would it happen? It never did on my old Windows 98 system.

Hi
If you're using Intenet Explorer open it up and on the menu bar select "Tools". Then select "Internet Options". Then under the "General" tab select the button "Delete Files". This will clear out all your temporary internet files.
It probably wouldn't hurt to reboot after you're done.
Also if you have a whole lot of temporary internet files it might take a few minutes for them to clear out.

Hope this helps.

Well, thanks for attempting to help, but I just tried saving an image and same thing... "no preview available". This was right after clearing all my temporary internet files and rebooting, too. Any other ideas?
