Opening Image PS 7 problem
Since I just started using PhotoShop 7 I have been able to go to My Documents seslect an image, Right-Click and select Open With, pick PS 7. That goes fine.
However, if I open PS 7 and then go to My Documents and select an image, PS locks up and I have to C A D to close it.

Anyone know a cure for this?

Thanks
John

What if you have images that are not in the My Documents? Can you do the same thing without lockups?
I keep things out of my "My Documents: folder as it seems to have a mind of it's own it how it works.

Check your available hard drive space and make sure your preferences are set for your scratch disks. It is preferrable not to use C as a scratch disk if that is where the program is installed.

Your welcome bassetman.

Don't know why but over the years you hear othets say that can't open or see files in the My Documents folder so when I got my new pc with 98 on it I just stayed away from using the My Documents folder.
I do have a couple things in it but your see hidden files that are there also but some programs made sub folders. What are these files? Are they what makes all the trouble people have? Who knows.

You might want ot go to Adobe's web site and get the latest patches and updates before doing any editing.

I DL'ed two update(s)/patch(s) that they recommended, and allowed PS7 to check for updates itself, but still no joy on opening My Documents.

When you go to the My Documents folder what file types is the application looking for in the browse window? Is it looking for Photoshop files or graphics files?

Hey Rockn, it was set to "All files", I tried switching it to "JPG" and it worked fine!

I have tried a bunch of other file formats, and they all seem to work well as long as I don't have it set to all file formats!
Thanks to all for you help, especially Rockn!
