Hi everyone just looking to buy a Cannon a300, and was wondering if its a half decent camera?

"decent" basic camera...
fixed focal length...digital zoom is useless

Here is a long review on the camera. But like buck said digital zoom is useless on it as with all cameras. The Optical zoom is what counts.

I think Ill get it , even if the other half doesn't come through.hehe I like to take pictures and like quality. I dont think I will need zoom as much as avid photographers but hopfully Ill like it.
