You shouldn't need anything to get the pics from your camera.
Connect the camera to the computer.....Most likely with USB.
Turn the camera on
Double click on "My Computer"
the camera will show as a "removable drive"
Double click on that.......There are your pics (numbered)
right click and "save" them .........where ever you choose.

After you have them saved to a folder you can delete them from the camera.

what model digital camera are u using? most(if not all) shld come with a compatible or proprietary program from their manufacturers for use in transferring the images...
maybe u could try looking at the manufacturer's web site for it?

As Longhair said...really should't need anything to get the pictures from the camera to the computer..

It would certainly help to know the camera and have a little more info than "nojoy"

I'd guess that the camera is not being recognized...
I would suggest reinstalling the drivers paying close attention to the instructions as some cameras are fussy about the sequence

Some older models do not show up as a drive in Windows Explorer and require proprietary driver software to get the photos. If the computer isn’t seeing the camera without the proprietary software there is no freeware that can extract the images. WinXP will usually load even those cameras successfully.

You have to find the software on the manufacturer’s site if you don’t have it. If you were writing posts rather than sending telegrams someone would probably have linked it for you by now.
