Adobe Illustrator - Jagged embedded images..need help
I recently had a graphic layout done by a third party, I previewed the file (.jpg) online although low resolution it was fine for the web.
Now I received the hi-res Adobe Illustrator files on CD and the layout is fine but there are about 5 embedded-linked images in the layout and they are jagged.
I tried the Sharpen>>>Unsharp Mask filter but it didn’t help much.
Am I missing a setting in Adobe Illustrator that needs to be set to show the files correctly?
Any suggestions???

Welcome to TSG.

It sounds like they were raster files that were too small and converted to vector with jagged edges. You might look in the help file for “aliasing” as it is “anti-aliasing” that smoothes out jaggies. If the files they are linked to are raster files you might be able to improve them by adding anti-aliasing to the conversion. If they are already vector files you might not have too much luck.

The reason I suspect they were taken from raster files is that you can blow up a vector file as much as you want without getting the jaggies.
