self feeding photo scanners>
Hey, I am looking for a scanner that self feeds. I don't want a "copier" I mean real quality scans that self feed. Like for instance, err is there maybe one for photos like 3x5s or 4x6 etc. i can just pile them in and they scan? I could send them out, but I want to do it myself. Or maybe there are self feeding scanners that only can do scans from paper? anyway. I mostly want to scan photos like just drop 24 or 36 printed photos and let it go any thoughts how much who makes em, what make em? how much? etc... thanks.

Use Google:

scanner page feeder

Gives 48,800 hits. They are not cheap, nor you would expect them to be.

I've seen them up here in Canada from HP (the ones listed in reply above). At the Best Buy in Canadian $$ it was about $400 (if I remember correctly). My hubby said that scanning that way would probably wreck the pictures (scratches, etc.). He loves the neg scanner attached under the lid on our new HP scanner (3970).

Hope this info is useful to you...

Merry Christmas (Happy holidays)

Howdy mama-mac...

Where I used to work ( before it was shut down ) we had an older SCSI version of one of the 8200 series ( I think it was the 8250 ), and I was told it did pick's ( I didn't witness it ) very well through the auto feeder, with no damage to the pic's...

But it is a good point, and would need to be investigated ( maybe a call to HP ? )...

And a Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays to you as well ...
