Extra photo in download to computer
Let's see if I can explain this right.....

Every time I download photos from my camera to the computer, there is always a photo that I deleted months ago from the memory stick....

The camera shows that the memory stick is empty, and says that there are no files in the folder once I have deleted all images, yet this one photo always appears when I download the next batch.....

I have checked the Sony website and gone right through the manual but can't find any help on this......

Sony Cybershot 5.0 DSC 92.....:

EDIT:
Now the camera tells me that the memory stick is empty I have tested it by plugging in the camera and it still downloads this one photo......yet I cannot find it anywhere in the camera...:confused...anyone know how to find it......

I might be teaching my granny to suck eggs, but have you tried formatting the card? That should clear it of everything. It might be a remnant that won't come out except by formatting.

Chalky, that photo was just probably 'locked'. Most cameras have this facility so you don't delete things by mistake, you can lock all or individual pics.
Formating is good though

Yea guess it was an image you locked to keep it from being deleted because I can also do that on my camera.

Good guess Moby.

Hewee... Moby....I can't find anything in the book about locking photos, I'll just have to go through it a bit more carefully..

That is probably what I did but don't know how, as I would never have meant to....

Cheers....

Hi hewee...something for me to learn about when there's more time after the Xmas....

Right now I'm having problems printing...Using Ulead Photo Impact the photos come out a little ' orangey ' that's the only way I can explain it...

On the screen they are PERFECT in colour...really look good, when printed though I'm really disappointed, so I'm trying to get better results...there's a lot of manual to get through though..

Don't have a printer so can't say just what setting to use.

Forgot to say the in PhotoImpact if you go to the perferences there is there is a Display setting. Maybe your monitor setting is not right or you settings color management are not right.
Here are my settings in the image. The only thing I did was add my monitor to it.
But in the Display setting the top 3 boxes and text are grayed out. Don't know why because I don't think they used to be. But the 1st and 3rd are checked.

Anyhow go to help and use the search tap and type in " color management". Read up on what it says.

Hope someone else comes and helps because with no printer I can't help.

Format your card on a regular basis regardless of whether you have a problem. It speeds up the camera.

It is unusual to get a large color shift if you are using factory ink and paper from the printer manufacturer. If you use aftermarket paper there can be a shift and aftermarket ink can cause even worse shifts. Monitor calibration is important to get the colors exact, but would not probably adjust for a noticeable orange tint. Monitor calibration is fine tuning and it seems you need more than fine tuning.

3 color general purpose printers usually have sufficient adjustments to get the color close. If you make those adjustments in the printers folder (from Control Panel) they become the default and you don’t have to adjust them each time you print. If you are using a 6 color photo printer most can take color profiles. If you have a photo printer I would go here and ask about a profile for the printer, paper and ink you are using – maybe someone already has one: http://www.dpreview.com/forums/forum...um=1003&page=1

Thanx hewe... slipe...I have been experimenting with display in P/I and now am going to do a few prints after toneing down the saturation and colour tone on the printer...I am using H/P 3 color ink cartridges, tried some compatable ones once, they only printed a third of what I usually get from a cartridge...

Off to find a small colourful photo to practise printing on.....

Cheers..

Now like I said I have no printer to see if my screen and printer look the same but have used the Screen Calibration in many image programs.

But after doing what it say here in the link below I have gotten the best looking picture I have ever seen on my monitor.
