Talking Help, simple problem n00b type
So Im trying to make a logo. How can I make a logo where it would be only the shape in the picture and not the soroundings. Like if I wanted a shape of a persons body and not the white background in my paint program how would I do that?

Don't think you can !!. Everytime you open your logo it will open
a square/rectangular window the size of your logo.

If you wanted it to blend in, you would need to make the background
the same colour as what your blending it into !!

I've created .gif's that have a transparent background. Example: I had a page that had some code to make it appear like swarms of tiny heads (mine) were following your mouse (some code is out there for ants, I just used a picture of my head)..

Anyway, I created the outline that I wanted and had it on a white background. When I went to save it (in Paint Shop Pro) I saved it with the background set to transparent. PSP has a great little wizard when you're doing this that will ask what background color will be designated as transparent, I always chose white.

Hope this helps.

Try this...
Once you get it in gif form, go to www.gifworks.com and make the background transparent. Then Save it and you should be set

Thanks for the help. I really apreciate it. Are you familiar with making .wad files for half life's counter strike? When I open my gif with a transparent color in mspaint I save it to bitmat and when I make a .wad file from that picture and then use it in counter strike as a spray it comes out the same. With a white background. I think that when I open it with paint it puts the white color back.

The problem is that "wally" (the program that I use to make the .wad file from the pic file) does not take gif's it only takes bmp and jpeg.

Ive seen people spray logo's with transparent background but I can't seem to figure this one out.

I think they used wad files in DOOM of yore and your images had to be created with a magenta background in order to be set as transparent. If you have a wad file extraction program look at an already compiled one and use the graphic format they use for a transparent mask and it should work.

Your close Rockn.
For Half Life and it's mods pure blue is transparent.
Red: 000
Green: 000
Blue: 255
Now I'm assuming your making a color logo.
Wally is a good program but try this one . It'll auto size and everything. Even has a transparent tool.
I'll give you a hint keep it simple on the spray. You'll lose a lot of detail. As well if you add much text and try to spray anything other than a flat wall it may come out backwards or upsidedown.
