You can not have spaces in your file names.

You could also rename your file as pittsburghpa.jpg
It would do the same thing.

reply to html help
Hi !! Thank you for your help with my html. However i appreciate your guidance I need some more advice on the subject. I followed your advice and I still have no picture on my page. I just don't have a clue as to what could be going wrong at this point. All I relaly wanna do is to use a picture and a backround on my page. Is there maybe some other way I could accomplish this goal. I would appreciate any further help you could give me on this matter.

What exactly are you seeing?
Is this site actually on the web, or just in the creation stage?
Can you give us the URL?

The next thing I would caution you about is "size". Most sites with custom backgrounds (images rather than just solid colors) use a small image that is repeated many times. One huge image takes forever to load and of course the slower the connection the worse it is.

Also, What are you using to write your HTML?
Is it an actual "web site writing program? or strictly hand written with notepad...etc?

This appears to be a passworded "community" type site where you can have a "personal" page. These types of sites do not usually support everything that HTML can do. They are limited. Have you contacted thier support people about this? Does anyone else on the site have something similar to what you are trying to do?

make sure the picture you are using for your background is in the same folder as the html page you are writing. Your reference is background="pittsburghpa.jpg" so the file is looking for the pic right there and named EXACTLY that (make sure you don't have any capitalization, etc). If the pic is in a folder elsewhere, move it to the folder with the html. As you get more and more pics, you could move them to their own "pictures" folder then you'd only have to change the reference to background="pictures\pittsburghpa.jpg".

Hope this helps.

MustBNuts....is on the same path as I. That is why I asked what exactly you are seeing on the page. How is your HTML code sent to the site? FTP? EVERYTHING that is to display on the site needs to be up-loaded to the server. But I'm still cautioning you against one huge picture as a background image........It takes forever to load!

BTW are you "previewing" this in IE first? How does it look there?
