Partitioned drive?
I got a slide scanner, and decided to try to install the software on the D: drive. There seems to be a lot of space on the D: drive that goes unused. However, when the program was installed on the D: drive, the software didn't work. I then reinstalled on the C drive and it worked. What's with the D: drive? Can I load software on it? The My Documents folder is on the C: drive, so I don't picture putting documentson the D: drive.

What is the deal with the D: drive?

Yes, you can (should be able to) load software on your D: drive, normally.

I always have multiple partitions, and right now I have programs installed on 3 different drives.

But I have found that there are a few programs that will have problems if they aren't installed where expected ( c: ).

I don't happen to know of any other reason for there to be a problem other than the fact that certain programs just have bugs that can't deal with being located off of the main drive.
