Why are some jpg and some jpeg?
In the thread about the Christmas scanner, the person has changed the scanned images to "jpg" but they come out "jpeg".

This doesn't seem to be a problem, and I know both settings are there under the same one (jpg, jpeg) I've seen the jpeg one before, but not often and mine always come out with jpg on the end when I save tham as that.

I was just wondering what, if anything is the difference and why it's sometimes jpg and sometimes jpeg?

Just something new to learn...

Thanks,

~ Carrie

(Sorry if I accidentally got that posted twice! Don't know how that happened. though it will help me get to my 1000 mark

I think it's from DOS where it would only recognise three characters
after the dot, whereas Windows will recognise four.

Don't think there is any other difference..

There's no difference. jpeg is the full abbreviation for the words the letters stand for - 'Joint Photographic Experts Group'
.jpg is the same thing, apparently we don't need to be experts anymore.

Or, maybe it's assumed that we ALL are now experts?

LOL

Well some images programs will not open a .jpeg or MS.DOS name .jpe so you need to covert them to .jpg.
