why only .gif files?
I'm curious why this site and yahoo and im sure others only let you post a .gif file ext when you put a pic on the profile? Does it have something to do with security or what?

Don't know where you got your information from. You can pretty much post any format that the web server or application supports. Most allow gif and jpg only because they are compressed file formats and save on server hard drive space.

I'm assuming that .au and .wav are not accepted due to potential file size. THere is also a limit on the img size posted here.

It's always important to post in the proper forum...

I'm a little confused...
