What's your opinion of Pinnacle Studio Version 8
I am looking at buying some software to download and edit video. I am wondering what people think of Pinnacle Studio Version 8. Is there something out there that is cheaper? Currently I can only find this for $99.
I've heard good things about it.
I am wanting to convert to to DVD
add sound
take still shots from video.

I am going to purchase a tv tuner card so I can input my video.

Thanks everyone!

Sometimes a TV tuner will come with video editing software like Vegas Video or Videowave. The ATI "All-In-Wonder" would come with Pinnacle Studio. Maybe you can save money by buying a card that comes with software.

I started with VideoWave, got fed up with the bugs (and no support) and went to Pinnacle, got fed up with bugs (and no support) and went to Movie Studio http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.co...ts/default.asp The prog is great and so is the support. You'll also need a burning prog like Nero. If you're serious about quality you'll need a decent capture card; Hauppage, AIW are good, with Canopus being the best.

Davebomb,
Is this what you are talking about http://www.compusa.com/products/prod...162&pfp=BROWSE

(hope the link works)

If so, that is what I am looking for. I was hoping there would be a "package" deal. The ATI above is $49.99. Not a bad price at all. If this includes software as well then this is probably what I want.

Thanks,
Senna

The product you linked to does not include video editing software. This one does:
