I want to hook up my laptop to my tv
I converted some of my dvd's to divx. If I wanted to watch them on my tv I imagine there are a few ways to do that. I am wondering what the pro's and cons are.

I am sure it is cool, but highly expensive (as welll as easily portable like just a cable), but there are some of those wireless jobbies out there. Use my computer/laptop maybe a usb as an output point and then put a wireless reciever where the tv is.

If I had s-video on my laptop i guess I could plug it right up. I have a small laptop with those 12" screens. I love it. It has a hookup for an external monitor, but nix on anything else. Maybe there is a workaround for a monitor out (dvi) connection I think it is called?

What are my options. Those small laptops just dont have that svideo unfortunatly. I'd love to have it so I could just tote around a cable then I could put stuff on the tv just with a little hookup.
What are the solutions for me including those wireless things. Wireless to connect to the tv is cool too.

If you guys could help me out with what my options might be whether they are expensive or no, bulky or really really cool/extremely mobile

thankS!

basically you need to get the sound and video from your PC to the TV

so you need the right connecitons and capabilities at both ends

ie:
video card with TV-out/video out
sound card with external jacks
(or one or both as on board features of the motherboard)

TV with the plug ins for receiving the video and audio signals through s-video or rca composite cables

you have to look at what your laptop can/can't do with video/sound ... and it depends on the TV at the other end too so you may end up toting a lot of cables, connectors, adaptors etc around just in case
