Never heard of it myself but...there are many people here that are familiar with and use digital cameras...Maybe if you post your trouble/questions someone will be able to help.

Wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole--definately not a major player in the digicam world---Look at an inexpensive Canon, Nikon, Sony etc.

I'm not familiar with that model either - but you don't necessarily have to out and buy an 'expensive' camera to have fun with digital photography.
It depends if what you have meets your needs... and is within your budget. Of course it helps if the camera is doing what it is supposed to do. Obviously yours, telecom69, is not or we wouldn't have this thread.

So as buck52 asks:

What sort of problems are you having?

God--I meant to say inexpensive Canon or Nikon (just changed it)---Sorry--you are right--you dont need an expensive camera to get good images.

The reason my opening postwas put the way it was,was because my questions were specific to this camera,so the reference to 10ft poles didnt help a lot.... you are right RT I do have a couple of questions, but they are specific Im afraid, one was how do I alter the camera to the picture quality mode(fewer pics, better quality)and how do I download the electronic manual that is supposed to be on the disc that came with the camera,as I can see no reference to it when the disc is played...as seems to be the way nowadays, everything comes on discs, there was just a quick start guide on paper, that didnt explain the cameras functions, coming face to face with a digital camera for the first time is a bit intimidating

If you go to Windows Explorer or My Computer and click on your CD-ROM drive with the CD in the drive you can probably find the manual. Sometimes you have to dig into some of the folders, but it is usually a .pdf file. It will probably answer your questions.

If you have problems opening the .pdf file you probably have to download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. There is probably one on the CD, but it is best to get the newest one. They have improved it with each revision. http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

Cheers!

Many thanks slipe for your contribution, unfortunately it didnt show the manual, there is a version of an application named Photo Manager on the disc and I tried to contact them via an address provided but it was not to be,I just couldnt connect to them, some dates available suggested that there was nothing after 2002 so maybe they are out of business, thanks again for trying to help....have a good day

telecom69, I see you are in the UK, so that probably explains why the Goodmans isn't recognizable here...
As for the functions, I don't know anything about your camera, but most digitals have a setup function in the camera which is viewable in the lcd screen...I have an HP 850, and you can set your preferences that way thru a series of menus...(hope I'm making myself clear)....
You might also try to check out some digital camera forums. You might find someone who can help with that particular brand of camera.
Does Goodmans have a website?
I'm new to the digital game myself, so my knowledge is pretty sparse, but if I helped even a little, then I'm happy.

Hi yankfan,Yes I understood what you were saying,no Goodmans dont have a website which I found unusual because they sell all sorts of Hi-Fi,Televisions etc as well as digital cameras,(perhaps they dont want the hassle) Ill try the forums as you suggested,so your post did help, take care and have a good day

Thank you all for your input, regarding finding a web-site,this is all I could come up with,it was supposedly sent by Goodmans to a forum I found see below.....

With regards to a website, we live in hope, the goodmans digital site was put up for DAB (another subject entirely) and we had hoped to extend it to other digital products unfortunately progress is slow. Watch this space, also email support would probably overwhelm us at the moment and we prefer to try and provide good back up for as many as possible rather than giving poor back up to many (nothing more frustrating than unanswered emails). Anyway all points noted and will try and progress.

Best Regards

Mark Smith - Goodmans......

So you see no luck with that at the moment.....will keep trying

You opened all folders and sub folders on the disk no matter what they are named? If they advertised a manual on the CD it is probably buried in there somewhere as they make a master and all the CDs are the same – it isn’t like they burn them on a writer and could leave something off. The CD for my Panasonic camera didn’t show a manual in autorun and I really had to dig to find it deep in the CD somewhere. It might not even specifically say “manual”. Open every folder and look for any .pdf, .txt, .doc .nfo or similar extension.

Success at last thanks to you slipe,I eventually found it in explorer, and have just finished printing it off Adobe, its quite a manual, being 67 pages long,I can see why they do it this way nowadays, they must save a sizeable sum on printing, its a very comprehensive manual and is just what I need being new to the game, thanks once again for your help with this....take care and have a good day
