SVCD file to big to fit on CD-R
Heres the deal. I have 80 Minute / 700MB disks that I wanted to fit a SVCD on. I let AVI2SVCD encode it and everything. It manually split it into 2 parts so it could fit onto a normal CD....or so I thought. Both of the files are 734MB. 34MB over the CD limit. I believe my CD writer has overburnning capabilities (it is a HP cd-writer 9100 series). I have tried CDRwin and Nero to overburn, and it says that the CD does not hold enough space (when I am positive it does). Does anyone know of any program that will do either one of the following:

1) Enable me to cut a few minutes off the end of my video so that the file size will be under 800MB (virtual dub doesnt work)
or
2) Enable overburn, and won't give an error about the CD will not hold 734MB.

Thanks,
X_Gamer7

Gday x gamer, I think that what I have done in the past (cant quite remember) was to load the svcd onto a virtual drive (daemon tools is a good one, nero has one but I have never gotten it to actually do what I want) and then just make an iso copy of the disc with nero. I have had the same problems with nero not letting me overburn, and this is the only time that will let you overburn. Only thing is, I cant remember if it was an avi file or svcd but I dont think it would really matter. (pretty sure it was a svcd) I don't know if you have ever been there, but doom has a really good web site with tutorials and apps to download. If you want daemon tools you should be able to find it in the download section I think. Good luck. You can get d- tool here Just been having a bit of a look again at dvd2svcd, and yeah, what you end up with is a .cue file, which you can then mount on a virtual drive and make an iso copy of, with nero. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for the reply!

I have the daemon tool hooked up (believe me, it was suggested multiple times at different sites ). I had no .bin or .cue file after the conversion was done.... All I had was 2 files, the said something like "bbMPEG_muxed_File00" and "bbMPEG_muxed_File01". I have a picture of all the files (attached image).

Thanx!

Sounds like maybe the converting isn't quite finished if you end up with those files. Did it say job finished at the end. It looks like its gotten almost there as the files are muxed, but not quite finished. I would go through all the settings again to make sure they are set right, and also make sure your program paths are pointing in the right direction. There is also a recovery option in the program (I've never used it. But you can read about ithere Other than that Im out of ideas, as I haven't used it a great deal. You could register for dooms forums, but they make you hold off for 5 days I think before you can post, but you may have found your problem by then. Good luck.

Well, i got it to work. I used VCDEasy and burned it using that program. Popped it in my DVD player, recognized it as a SVCD, sat back, and enjoyed the movie! Maybe Nero just isnt for me...THANK YOU VCDEASY!!!
