Aligning two photographs to Make a Panoramic View
Hello,

I've taken two photographs of my back garden and wish to join them as a panormic view using IranView. The problem is that they are not in alignment with each other. Placed side by side, one is higher than the other.

How would I align them please? I have PSP 8.0 and PhotoImpact 7.0.

If it's very complicated it might be better if I sent them to one of you to do it for me.

Thanks very much.

Bye,
Penny.

Since there is a size and orientation difference which is easy to do hand holding a camera it may be best if you send the originals to someone for adjustments. If each pic is 200KB or below you could post both here and see if someone could adjust and stitch them for you or if you wish you can send them to me zipped via my private E-Mail addy which I will send you via PM upon request.

Align them as well as you can and stitch them regardless of whether one is higher. After it is stitched into a single image crop it. The more practice you get hand holding panoramas the less you will have to crop.

I think Panorama Factory has a 30 day free trial if your camera didn’t come with any stitching software. You can do it in PhotoImpact or PSP if you locked the exposure for the shots, but something like Panorama Factory adjusts the exposures.

With an image editor make a new file twice the width of an individual image and just a tad taller. Drag both images into the file and align them. Crop and merge the images. Panorama software will align them for your.

Hola Tuppence2
Does PSP 8 or PhotoImpact 7 support layers? If they do, then place one picture in one layer and the other picture in another one, then go from there.
Photoshop CS has a plug-in that help you doing this, it's not perfect but it help a lot, plus it has a free trial. Go here; http://www.adobe.com/support/downloa...atform=Windows
Good luck

Hello Everyone,

Thanks very much for the advice.

Davey - Thanks very much for the offer.. They will be around 600 in size so would you need me to compress them or just send them through email as attachments?

Bye,
Penny.

E-mail them to me too Pen - no compression, unless Hewee's already strutted his Michaelangelo stuff with them.

unfortunately both put a watermark on the image with the trial versions...only way around it is a screen shot at low resolution...or buy them

Hello everyone,

Thank you uly for your kind remarks about my photographs. I enjoy taking and sharing them, and thanks for the offer of help.

Ok, hewee and Moby - I'll email the photos as soon as I have a minute. I work now in a Nursing Home Laundry on Saturdays and Sundays and am absolutely exhausted for days after! Will get round to it in the week. Thanks for the offers. I may take the shots again in better light.

Thanks for the links hewee, Slipe and Buck, I'll certainly take a look at those.

Bye,
Penny.

Just so you know if you have PSP 8 you can make a Panorama using that. I have not tried this yet but here is a link to the tutorial for it. Just look in the section where it says Digital Camera Tools/Photo Manipulation and you will see a panorama one.

Hola
Hola Hewee
I just look at your pictures, and I'm impress.
How long did it take you to do a picture in Bryce?
They are cool.
Bryce is a program that I'm always want to try but I'm kind of concern about the time that will take me to learn it.
Good pictures
