Smartmedia Card Reader has stopped seeing the cards?
Recently my card reader has stopped recognising the cards inserted and when I try and open them I get the 'Please Insert Disk into Drive H:' message.

I have reformatted the cards (in the the camera not in Windows) and they work fine while in the camera.
Also if I connect the camera directly to the USB port it is detected, but still I get the same message when I try and open the drive.

I think this has started since I upgraded to XP from 2000 but seeing as I don't use it very much I can't be sure.

FYI the Camera is an Olympus Camedia C-4000 Zoom.

Any known issues here?

Thanks in advance.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the Olympus software.

Tried that, but they only give you a Smart Card Driver which is bundled in XP anyway.

Is your Card Reader supported by XP? Possibly you need an updated driver for it to function under XP. The same for your camera software. Check the manufacturers website to see if there is an XP version you can download.
