OK....................I use a Kodak and their easyshare software so I will make my best attempt to help you...............but I am a little confused so you will have to give me a little more info.
First, can I assume when you said you are attempting to DL your pics that you actually mean "transfer" from camera or memory card to your computer? How do you make your transfers- USB, card reader or docking station?
Have you already uninstalled software and now can not get software to reinstall?
When this first occured, when the transfer first failed, what did or didn't happen?
You didn't mention your OS so that may also be of some help to know.
After uninstalling software(if you try again) defrag your hard drive before doing new install. When reinstalling software shut down any programs that you may have open (could be cause of "busy" bluescreen). If the reinstall is successful go to Kodaks website and check for any updates for the easyshare software and for your particular camera model.

One other thing. After a quick review of Kodaks online support I realized they also recommend NOT having the camera docked or hooked to the computer during an install of the software.

Was the same for my nikon jjb. Said to install the software and when it tells you to plug in the usb cable and camers to do so because if you don't it may not install the right drivers.

MissM there is no need for apologies but please don't give up. Actually I should be the one that is offering you apologies for failing to welcome you to TSG..................
Soooooo..............WELCOME TO TSG!!!!!
If I can't help you resolve your problem most likely someone else that can will pick up on this will
I know it isn't always easy but it helps everyone if you can provide as much information and be as specific as possible.

Your OS(operating system) is Windows ME.
If your Kodak Easyshare software is the only means you have for transfering the pics to your computer then that is the first issue that needs to be resolved. Please explain how far you get with the install, what happens and any error messages you may receive.
If you continue to have problems installing from the CD Kodak does offer the software at their website as a free download. This isn't a bad option because you would receive any available updates since you have purchased your camera and the software that came with it. Unfortunately if you happen to be on a dialup connection the download may take 45-60 minutes
The download and information and support specific to your model camera camera can be found here:
http://www.kodak.com/global/en/servi...l?pq-path=1210

Kodak has very comprehensive self support at their website specific to all their products. Please read through the support info at the link above that is specific to your camera.

If you download the software from their website use the option of "Currently Using KODAK Picture Software". It will give you proper uninstall directions prior to downloading the new software.

First step, lets get the updated software back on your computer and that may very well also clear up your transfer problems
If not, we will go from there. In the mean time I am going to keep my fngers crossed that you have a cable/dsl connection because then you can download the software in a matter of minutes

The Pictures could well be corrupted or at least one of them so use the mounter (Camera icon in "My computer" and drag and drop them one by one to your Desktop and see what happens.
Failing that,if the problem lies with ESS your first port of call is the Control Panel,Add/Remove Programs and run the Repair option for ESS.
If you decide to remove the software please run the Clear utility before reinstalling :
kodak.com/go/clear.
Cheers

Hello ..JJB..i am new here also
Welcome to TSG gurl and my apologies for not having a reply sooner.
Are you attempting to remove the pics from the cameras internal memory or a removable card?
My first guess would be that your problem lies within your camera or memory card, most likely a damaged or corrupted card.
If you have not resolved the problem by now I would attempt to rule the card out first. The quickest way to do that would be to try a different card and if you do not have one since they are so commonplace perhaps you could borrow one. If you get the same results you can rule out a damaged memory card.
Another "hit and miss" attempt you could try in the meantime is to review the pics one by one thru the camera and delete any unwanted or unsatisfactory pics, if luck is on your side maybe you will remove the "damaged" jpg. and all will be fine.
If you are willing to sacrifice all the pics you could try clearing the memory or reformatting the card, take a few pics and see if all is well again.
Just a couple additional quick checks before we dig deeper would be to see if you could upload to yours or another computer via a card reading device.

These are just a few "quickee" suggestions to try. If you are still having problems and none of these suggestions help post back and we will go from there.

I would try a card read so you are not going tru the camera or Kodaks software.
With the card reader it will see the card as another hard drive and if you can see all your pictures then copy them over to your hard drive.
This will tell you the card is ok and the trouble is Kodak.

It is your camera or software that is the trouble then because your card was good and you got the pictures. Get a card reader for your PC.

But you could try uninstall the camera software and installing it again to see if that helps. If your camera is new then it should be covered and you can get it fixed for free.
