Question Putting Slideshow Onto A Cd
I Was Able To Put Pictures From A Disc Onto A "slideshow" With Background Music. (it Is Located In A "folder" In My Computer, Under The Topic "my Documents". I Recently Bought Adobe Photoshop Elements And Photoshop Album Which I Downloaded Into My Computer (Windows Me (2000). I Have Absolutely No Idea How To Get The Slideshow Onto A Disc And Then Make Copies. I Don't Even Know Which Of The 2 Disc Holders To Place The Cd Disc Into. (my Computer Is A Compaq With Rewritable Disc In It).
Any Help Would Be Greatly Appreciated! Thanks!

Assuming you have XP if you put a blank CDR into the burner it should open a wizard. The drive that opens the wizard with a blank CDR should be your burner. Windows Explorer should also identify one as a CDRW.

In Windows Explorer open your folder with the slideshow. Edit>Select all. Right click on the highlighted files and select “Copy”. You can paste the files into the record wizard or just paste it directly to the drive that is your burner. Click “Record”. If you just write the folder to the CD you have to open the folder before you can run the slideshow – it is better to record the slideshow file(s).

If it requires a program to run the slideshow you will also want to record the program to the CD if it is freeware. Irfanview works well for slideshows and is freely distributable. Put the downloaded program in a separate folder so people who don’t already have it can install Irfanview or whatever you used to make the slideshow.

Your computer might have also come with recording software – the instructions are just for the built-in XP burning software. The XP software is fine for a simple burn like you need. Some recording software can make slideshows. You can record the slideshow as a VCD so people can play it in many DVD players on their TV. These are instructions for Nero if your computer happened to come with that: ftp://ftp6.nero.com/Support_doc/PDF-...lideShowCD.pdf The instructions should be similar for other programs.

These are instructions with a link to a free autorun program if you want the CD to autorun when it is inserted. http://www.ezau.com/latest/articles/autorun.shtml You can just write the autorun code in the root file but you might do better using the software. If the slideshow requires software to run it won’t start the slideshow automatically unless the person opening it has the software installed.

Also check the slide show program you used, it might have options to make a slide show CD right from within the program and burn all the necessary files so it will open on any computer.
