Hello.

I am going to take the pictures of 6,000 items using my Canon S30 (3.2 Megapixel). The pictures must be in 300x300 bmp format. This is the requirement of the catalog software.
Could you give me tips how to proceed correctly like:
- What camera resolution should I take the pictures (1600x1200 jpeg)?
- Can I use the portrait mode with macro?
- Can I use Irfanview to batch resize the pictures? What options do I set in Irfanview to enhance the pictures?

bitmaps? are you sure you want to use that format? Use a compressable format or your catalog will be compltely unmanageable. I know infranview will do batch conversions but I am not sure about the enhancement capabilites within a batch mode. Photoshop can do preset manipulation by an action as well as resize but Infranview is free and does the job well.
