questions about digital pictures
Hi, I have a digital camera, and when I take pictures with a 3.1Megapixel setting, the file size is over 1mb on my computer when I transsfer them

I want to email them to people, sometimes OE will shrink them down to 30 - 150 KB, sometimes not.
Am I losing image quality when it shrinks them?
How do I shrink them myself without emailing them so I canb put them on a floppy to be developed?
Thanks
Matt

Have a look at the software that came with your camera. There should be a photo edit/manage program of some sort. If not download "Irfanview". http://www.irfanview.com/ This program is a small download and is one of the easiest to use. Also one of easiest to get help for as a lot of people here know it well.

Irfanview is a pic editor which can resize and it works fine. Just another option for you. If you just want a stand alone pic re-sizer (can do batch re-sizing etc) I use this. Simple and quick. Saying that, I have irfanview too

If you shrink the picture size you do lose quality. Fot printing, keep the size as high as possible.
