Minolta digital
Just thought I would pass this along for anyone interested. I just got an e-mail from Minolta today and in the fall they are introducing the Maxxum 7 digital SLR. I had the original Maxxum 7000 that came out in 85 or so and when it broke a few years ago I bought the Maxxum 7 so I am thrilled to see this because I love my camera.

Now I wonder if my old lenses from the Maxxum 7000 would work with it? When I got the Maxxum 7 I bought the Tamron brand 70-300 zoom so I wonder if that would work on this also. I know what I want on my Christmas list providing it will be a good camera.

Hi, Ms lady

Here's a snip from Steve's Digicam site about the digital model:

"The Dynax 7 Digital/Maxxum 7 Digital will accept the Minolta A mount, compatible with the full range of Minolta AF lenses, as well as Dynax/Maxxum system accessories. "

Not only will it work, but you will effectively have a stabilized lens. Other than appealing to those with Minolta mount lenses, it has a lot of appeal for the stabilization. I hope they don’t screw something up.

Thanks I love Steve's site but I didn't realize he had some info on it yet. It has some of the features I have now. My friend has the Canon rebel digital and uses all her canon lenses on it and loves it so I am hoping this one will be just as good. The Minolta lenses I have are from the original maxxum 7000 put out in 85 or so but they do work on the maxxum 7 so I guess I would be set. I just looked today and the one new lens I bought when I got the 7 is a sigma lens, for some reason I thought it was tamron. Now wonder if I will have to rob a bank to afford it but it is on my wish list.
