HP Software
I have a HP Scanjet 3500, as well as a Photosmart 620 camera. I also had a Photosmart 7350 printer for a while. All 3 came with various versions of HP Photo & Imaging Software. My system is Windows ME.

Here is the problem: Some HP program is repeatedly installing 2 files. I delete them, and they return soon thereafter. One is always a tif copy of a recent jpg file, called hpothb07.tif, and an accompanying file: hpothb07.dat
(the # on the end may change, i.e. 01, 02, etc.) This is not a big deal I guess, but it bugs me. I have gone through all the menus on all the HP programs I can find, but nowhere can I find a way to stop it doing this. Can anone help?

Don't know if this will help but I found another post mentioning these files.

If no one here has a clue then maybe try posting over at HP.

Thank you. I read them. They were a bit hard to follow, but I used 2 of the suggestions, finding all the files on my drive & deleting them all (there were 8 pairs), and also unchecking 2 references to HP printers in msconfig. Don't know if it worked yet.
