Have you got rulers showing so you can see the exact size of the photo before printing? When you go to Image resize, uncheck the option to "Resample".

Unhappy Image Sizeing Please Help
Hi all firstly thank you very much for those of you who have given me advice on image size – but I still have a problem!
1. I use Photoshop CS
2. I resize the image to 6 x 4 under image > image size
3. The resolution reads 300 dpi the size is 6 x 4 resample image is ticked only resample proportion unticked (if I tick this it locks the sizes and I still cant get the size I want and bicubic in the drop down
4. Pixel dimensions read – W 1200 – H – 1800
5 I have the ruler on show and in inches it reads 6 x 4
6. I click print with preview - under the scaled print size it reads – scale 100% - scale to fit media unticked H - 6inches W – 4 inches – below reads colour management – source space – document – adobe RGB (1998) - intent perceptual
7. A few more clicks and the printer starts to print and out comes the image at approximately 5 ½ inches by 3 ¼ inches!!!!!

Please please is there someone who can help

Hello Kevin,
I may not have an answer for you but can you clarify a few things,
Is your picture set as landscape or portrait? the reason I ask is, in (2) you say it is 6 x 4 but in (4) you say pixels 1200W x 1800H which is a ratio of 4 x 6.
Also, have you checked in your printer settings? make sure it is not being scaled in there.

Kevin please stick to one thread ...I have merged the two

Kath100 bring up a couple of good points for you to look at

I have CS ...I just duplicated your method the best I could and the print comes out exactly 4x6...

I am not sure where you are getting into trouble..

try this method...

open the image then select the crop tool...third one down on the left hand side of the tool palette...On the tool bar across the top set your dimensions to what you want and the resolution to 300 ...note you may need to right click in the dimensions box to change from pixels to inches... now just left click and drag the mouse across the image...when you have selected what you want let go of the left click...now either right click and select crop or click the check at the right of the tool bar... try printing that

I get exactly 4x6 or 6x4 ... depending on the orientation ...that way as well
