I have a similar question:

How do I turn a *gif into a *jpeg.

The gif was captured from a website. I want to shrink it and post it as a jpeg on another site.

you can use an image editor to do that. like photoshop/fireworks or maybe the microsoft image editor.

That is the tricky part. My photo editor ( Photo Impressions ) does'nt even
recognize the photo because it isn't a *jpeg.

In the folder where I put it, it just finds the jpegs that are already there, not the one the was saved as a *gif.

are you sure there isn't a dropdown box where you can make the program view different file types or all filetypes? I've never used PHoto Impressions, but it seems funny that a photo editor won't even open gif files.

www.irfanview.com download and use it to change the .gif to .jpg. Get the plugins while you're at it. And btw, it's free.

You can use microsofts "Paint" to do that.

Would also reccomend Irfanview as in Photoladies post
