"no preview available" message
Help...I bought a new Dell printer that had Jasc Photo bundled which I did not like. I prefer the windows photo and fax viewer. Now my problem is that I am unable to open half my photos. I get a message that says "no preview available" I see the file name and size and I see that it is still in the jpg format but I am going nutso trying to these photos to open.
Please help!
Thanks,
Mitch

Howdy and welcome...

You don't say what OS you are using but try this for XP

Goto one of the files, right click on it and select open with, scroll to picture and fax viewer, highlite it and then put a check in the box that say "Always use this program..." click OK

if you have 98 hold the shift key down whilst you right click

Hi Buck. Thanks for the quick reply but unfortunately I already tried that and in fact tried to open the photos with other software as well. Frustrated because all was fine before I loaded the software that came with my Dell printer (JASC Photo) Do you think these photos are all gone? I see the files size and name but no preview.

If the files were on your hard drive before you loaded the new software they should still be there...

Did you try uninstalling the software?

What else have you changed ?

Could you see all the photos before the new hardware install?
