Installing software for 2 cannon cameras
I own a Cannon A60 and my roomate owns a Cannon A70. How do we install our software? I installed mine first and then she did, now neither camera programs work.....

What OS does your PC have on it? If you are using XP I'd recommend you delete all the Canon software and just use XP to download your pictures. It's all I use for my S1.

I wouldn't install either of them-they are terrible--Get yourself a copy of Photoshop Elements, or the freebee Picasa.

camera software
I have several softwares for editing my digital pictures....
Digital Image(Gateway camera)
PhotoImpression
IrfranView
Ulead Photo Express(scanner)
Film Factory(I like this one)
FinePix Viewer(Fugi camera)
Picasa2(just downloaded,and I really like this one)
Collage Creator
PhotoFinish(which took the default and I deleated it and now I can't view some of the pictures I downloaded from the internet)

My question:
I think I need to delete several of these and just use 1...right???
If I do, will I loose my pictures?

You don't NEED to remove any of them. But I would remove all the ones you don't use. And, no, you shouldn't lose any of your pictures if the proper uninstall preceedures are followed.

I don't have any of those programs you have listed, except for IrfanView, which I think is really great. Some of the others may use proprietary formats, and if you have pictures in those formats, you may not be able to view them after you delete the program that created them. Sometimes they will use a standard format (ie. JPG) and call it something else. Irfanview can detect this, tell you about it, and offer to rename it. I suggest that you try to open any pictures you have with Irfanview, and if it works, you don't need the program that created it. IrfanView is more of a photo viewer than a photo editor, so if you want to do any tricky stuff like painting something into or out of a picture, you will need something else. If you just want to convert filetypes, or change the size of an image, or crop or flip images, Irfanview is about all you will ever need.

I just plug my camera into a USB port and open "My Computer". It shows up as some kind of storage device, I click on it, open the folder inside, Select the images, and either Copy or Move (Edit menu) them to the Desktop or whatever folder I want them in. You can drag them out if you want. You should not need any special program. ---911
