Emailing pictures through "My Pictures"
My computer belonged to my father in law. I own an art business, so I store art pictures in the "MY PICTURES" software. If I want to (email) some pictures to another business, my father in laws email address automatically comes up as if HE would be sending the pictures himself. It does not allow me to change the FROM recipient from his name to MY name. I've even tried to just go ahead and send the pictures anyway and it does not allow me to do that either because his email user is "chilitech" and the computer says it can not send because it does not read chilitech because it has been uninstalled from the computer. I am confused then why it would still be showing his name instead of mine. I am on windows XP. How can I change that so my information WILL appear when I want to sent pictures to another mail recipient?
Thank you for your time!

In outlook Express software-
menu item TOOLS/ ACCOUNTS/ MAIL just change the adress to the correct one.
I am a little confused-does that wrong email indication only happen with photo's? or with all email?

NOt sure if this applies or will work in this, but if you have (or want to set up) Yahoo email- maybe even just for sending pictures.

Once you do this, go to HELP (a tiny link on the mail page) and put "default email" in search. I'm not sure how to find it directly, they make you look for it

It give a link to click which downloads a very small something that sets the Yahoo mail as your default mail.

From then on, if you right click and SEND TO, your yahoo mail will come up.

Probably setting up Outlook Express as default is better and more direct, but I've had to look up the Yahoo one for people who don't use O.E. Or share a computer with someone else, and have another person's email as default.

Unhappy my pictures
Thank you for the advice. I have tried setting yahoo as my default email and netzero and neither of them are working. The computer gives me a message saying it's invalid. I am very confused........... I need step by step instructions. I need to get rid of the old email linked to outlook express, so I can send emails from my yahoo address or my netzero address. I don't even have outlook express. It was on this computer before being used my the previous owner. I'm just very frusterated because emailing pictures is VERY important to my business. I own an art business and I NEED to email pictures of art work to gallerys. I've been working on this for 5 days now.

Have you tried opening up Yahoo mail and ADD ATTACHMENTS and browse to the pictures you want and click ADD, wait till they upload and then DONE and send them?

Even just for now.

If you don't have Outlook Express I don't know how you can cancel one account and put in another one for yourself.

Does Netzero give email? That would go through Outlook Express?

I never had it but remember when it started and was free (also juno) it had limitation on what you had or could do with it.

So, maybe a separate email like Yahoo or Hotmail would be best, at least for now where you need to email pictures? They both add attachments and upload the same way (same idea) and Yahoo virus scans attachments that are sent (and come in). I think Hotmail may, too (I haven't had that for years).

Aside from that... (I feel like the blind leading the blind, I'm usually asking questions not trying to answer them

up top in the toolbar, it says TOOLS. It does with this board open (though it might not on all websites) when you see tools, click on it and INTERNET OPTIONS. Then up top PROGRAMS. This brings up a list of defaults that are set on your computer. Mine has for email OUTLOOK EXPRESS.

I'm not sure just how to change it, it might have more option on the scroll down bar, and might say YAHOO on this, which is why it's not working (you have to set it there, first).

If you click on default mail and it says YAHOO leave that up and click apply.

I don't know how to cancel a default account in Outlook Express when you don't have Outlook Express- which I think is the overall point?

You might have to put something else in it's place, in this case Yahoo mail. See if you can change it in Tools-Internet options, like I discribed.

You might have to save everything (do you have a cd burner for backup?) and reinstall WINDOWS all over again, if you have a restore CD. This would wipe out everything and start over and you could set up Outlook Express for yourself.

you can also get Outlook Express 6 from the microsoft website as a download. If you do this, there might be an option at some point when it installs to "set it as default mail" which you would do, and then set up your info in it.

As I said I'm not sure if NetZero offers email like this. You'd need a server/ISP to put in the info to set up Outlook Express mail.

Hope I haven't confused you more, just giving you what I can think of, from my limited experience with this.

(correction that is INternet Explorer 6 you can download from microsoft, which has Outlook Express 6 with it)

If I am not understanding this right then sorry but you can't send and receive yahoo mail though outlook express and such with the free version of yahoo mail you need yahoo mail plus to do that. Can't you just go to yahoo, log in and compse the mail and then attach the pictures? If you want to use yahoo mail with another program to send and receive mail you need yahoo plus for $20 a year. As for net zero you will have to search their help and see if they will let you send and receive through other programs. What program are you trying to send and receive the mail through if you don't have outlook express?
