What is the best digitizing program?
Can someone tell me which is the best program for digitizing images?
I'm looking right now in Goggle and try to learn something about this.
Thanks

Can you expand on your requirements?

The source of the images? Anything already in the form of a file is already "digitized"

If it is an analogue print, scanning it in "digitizes" it.

But I suspect you have another interpretation?

digitizing
I need --or want-- to embroider (?) some shirts, and they --most companies that do that-- have a setup fee that goes from $35 to $150 or more for "DIGITIZING" your logo or whatever that you want.
So I though that I can --maybe-- buy a software that can do that. The ones that I found cost a lot --some more than $3000, that come with extra fonts, plug-ins, etc-- and if I going to buy one, than I'm going to need some help from you, the Thechguys people.
I hope that I explained more or less what I need, and I'm sorry for the poor job I did in my first post.
Thanks
Uly7

What is the thing you want to go on your shirts? Is it a logo? Is it something that already exists out there in normal 3D land? Or is it something that you wish to create from scratch? And in what format do they require this 'digitized' whatever it will be? It sounds like all they'd want is a pic and most image editors will let you play around/alter things to get what you want. If it's something that's already in print, can you scan it? If you want bits of different things, scan them all, then make up/join whatever you want. If you want an elephant, probably too big for a scanner But you can take a pic? If you can see it you can snap it? Once it's on the computer, you can do more or less anything with image editors.
Or am I missing something?

I need a logo. The logo is a vector, .ai and I can just make a jpeg or anything with, but for what I need, it needs to be "digitized" in order to be embroider in a shirt. I need to find more info about this software.
Thanks

What dimensions do you want the final picture to be (ie how many stitches in each direction). My sister uses Irfanview to reduce the picture to 8 colours and 128 by 128 pixels. She then prints it out on A4 and sees a square for each stitch. Try it and you will see what I mean.

The companies are taking hard copy photos, drawings etc and digitizing them, probably using some sort of scanner. Then they run a program using the digitized image that sets the image up for the embroider machine.

You are already digitized if they are vector images. When you convert them to JPG they become raster digital images, so “rasterize” isn’t the word you are looking for either. You are looking to convert your already digitized image to specific instructions for an embroider machine. My guess is that your best bet is to have them do that.

You might ask which digital format and resolution would require the lowest setup price and get back with questions on that. I would guess they want just the logo without any background to save labor on doing that themselves. And it seems a vector image would be preferred.
