transfering photos from a 512 MB sandisk card onto a 256 MB iMac
my camera transfers photos fine with a 61 MB sandisk card, but as soon as i put in my 512 MB card, both iPhoto and Kodak EasyShare software stop responding. is this because my computer doesn't have enough memory?? what can i do besides purchase more memory? (does my iMac G4 computer really only hold 256 MB?)

I can't tell you what it is exactly, but I can tell you that it's NOT the fact that you have 256MB of RAM. Your hard drive, where all the photos end up, is significantly larger.

That said, the software might be having some problems with 256MB of RAM, but I doubt that... 256MB is quite a bit for just downloading photos.

i forgot to mention that the photos on the card transferred successfully onto a pc with windows...so i know it's not the memory card's fault...
