Images 800 pixels wide are 50% of screen at 1024X768 ????
In Internet Explorer or Netscape my web page images (800 pixels wide) show at 50% of my 13-1/4" wide screen with 1024X768 display setting. Shouldn't it be about 80% ? Confused at

They should display at almost 80% of your screen width. My guess is that there is something in the html or program you are using that is reducing the size.

Here is an 800 pixel wide image. If it goes around 80% of the width of your screen I would guess it is something in the web page coding.

Yes yours is 80% - I think that must be the clue. I previously used Netcape Composer for web pages without that problem but for this album I'm starting I'm using MS Word. It must be resizing for some reason.

Thanks for the useful reply, I'll work on it.

Cheers, Ken

Look at your source code on the web page. Here is one example:
<img border=0 width=427 height=290 id="_x0000_i1026" src=beach-bear.jpg>

I think it looks better at the smaller size. Your page will be unmanageable and the formatting will go crazy if you display them at their original size.

Rockn, I originally resampled my images to 800w for a full page then opted for a 70%-30% table. I guess I could edit the text file and set the image sizes to a more reasonable setting but since it looks ok as is . . .

I do wonder how they got resized to width=427 height=290. I sort of lost control of the size and I am curious. Must work at this some more to satisfy my curiosity.

Thanks, Ken

Apparently Word is reducing and coding the image to 70% (the cell width % of the table).

.7X800/1024=.55 of my 1024 screen.

Y'know in Dreamweaver, there's a function just to remove all the crappy code that a Word generated HTML page contains!

Crappy code?
I tried to convert back to Composer and got a real dog's breakfast using both on the same pages. I had to start clean. What was I thinking! Fortunately they're the only pages I tried Word on. As far as Dreamweaver goes I don't need many features (or cost) so will just stick with Composer which I am comfortable with.
