Solved: Best prog to alter avitar size
Good Morning
I want to change the icon on the left with perhaps something that's animated.
What would be the best (free) prog to re-size it to what TSG wants ie; 50x50?
Thanks for any input on this.

I don't know what the best one is, as I think it would abe a personal preference thing, but I used Macromedia Fireworks to convert mine to the right pixel size and to shrink the size of the file to within the required range.

I downed the 30 day trial LD and it seems ok but once I got the avatar into it and reduced the size to 50x50 and when I uploaded it it looks really small compared with the in-house avs.
Any ideas why this may be?

Ok, try this. Instead of inputing your pixel size and then opening you jpeg, just go to open file. This will open it at it's original size.
When you've done that, go to Modify>Canvas>Image Size and reset your pixel settings that way. It should give you a 'true size'. At the moment, you canvas is 50x50 but the image inside it is not - therefore, it's reading as 50x50.

This is what I just did with your avatar. It's very basic, but you get the idea...

Goodness me!! The one I just put in as an attachment was only 6.13kb's.
How did you save the file? On the right hand side of the screen, there is an 'Optimize' option. This will change the file type, otherwise you may end uo saving it as a PNG.
Once you've selected it as you want it, then you need to export it (Ctrl+Shift+R). Then press enter.
That should reduce the file size you have.
