Photoshop for Win98?
I have Win98. I tried to download photoshop from download.com but it seems all to requires win2000 or up. Even if the download.com specs for photoshop say it accepts win98, it requires to abort the installation anyway.

So is it possible to have photoshop for Win98?

What version of Photoshop were you trying to load?

Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 says "Windows 98" on Download.com, but do not believe it. ALWAYS look at the website of the software maker
http://www.adobe.co.uk/products/phot...ystemreqs.html
98 is not supported.

Its not just a matter of the Windows versions either, as its likely that the hardware that a 98 PC uses could fall short of being useable, its a resource hungry application. Adobe say 800 MHz, but think double that for acceptable useable performance.

Howdy

Do you have 98 or 98SE?

I have run PS7 as well as Elements2 on a 98SE machine with only a 500MHz processor... Fairly slow if opening large camera files and when using large brushes but they worked none the less

PS 7 will load onto Win 98SE. I have used it on an MMX200, but painfully slow.

Unfortunately, if you want to use CS or CS2 you are out of luck.

May have to get Win XP unless you can get hold of a copy of an earlier version of PS.

Photoshop CS will only run on 2000 or XP

I was trying to load PS Element 3 on my Win98SE. I won't be using the advanced features of PS so I hope PS will still be efficient enough for the PC resources I have. What version would be safe for Win98SE?

Elements also requires 2000 or XP. Photoshop 7 will work on 98 and might be slow depending on your resources. It is also not available any longer directly from Adobe.
